1. Object matter.
Pneumatic polymer immobilization bone splints are applied for suspected fractures of the shin, feet, forearms, joint damage (inclusive up to the elbow and knee joints), with soft tissue injuries of extremities with external bleeding – to create immobility of the damaged limbs during transportation from the place of trauma to the hospital. The bone splint is designed to assist skilled and unskilled personnel in self – and mutual assistance, first aid , first medical aid.
2. Domain of usage.
In ambulances and emergency care services; in disaster medicine; in formations of MES and Civil Defence, in units of the Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry; on industrial and mining enterprises; at public organizations; at sports associations and sports centres; at various transport companies; in police cars.
3. Technical data and characteristics of the product.
Bone splint can be maintained and stored at ambient air temperatures from -20°C to +50°C. The weight of the bone splint is not more than 3 kg. Maximum operating pressure in the bone splint is50 mm Hg.; in the pillow-case – 40 mm Hg. The construction of the bone splint is specially designed so that it is possible to inflate the bone splint up to 50 mm. Hg. Radiography is possible without removing the bone splint.

Depends on the type of the set in accordance with the TOR.
5. Rules of procedure.
Splinting does not provide for removal of clothes and footwear. In case of open fractures or cuts, you should first apply sterile bandage to the wound, and then the bone splint. Unzipped item is superimposed on the limb, then zipped. Bone splint are inflated by mouth to a maximum of 50 mm. Hg. or using device for injecting air (under control required!). Valve closes with the axial movement of the valve head along the base of the valve, then the injured person may be evacuated or placed on an inflatable pillow. When removing the bone splint, first opens the valve to release the air. After the pressure in the bone splint is reduced and it is unzipped the product is removed from the limb.
6. Recommendations for bone splint disinfection.
In case of abundant visible pollution the bone splint should be washed under running water. Bone splint should be disinfected with 4% hydrogen peroxide solution with the addition of 0.5% detergent such as “Lotus”. After exposure, disinfectant solution is removed from the surface of the bone splint with a drape moistened with water. Then bone splint is wiped off with a dry drape. The valve head is subjected to disinfection by immersion in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 30 min. After exposure valve head is rinsed under running drinking tap water.
Bone splint guaranteed use period is 12 months.
